I'm an Austrian webdesigner and the work I did so far was mostly for friends (except one payed work for a client I didn't know). Now I'm planning to start as a freelance webdesigner/developer.

What are the things a beginner should mainly think about? What things to take especially care of/into account? Which websites/blogs should I regulary visit? How to stay updated on the newest and/or upcoming (future-)trends in webdesign? On new developments (e.g. concerning CSS and browser issues, like the past use of hacks which don't work in new browsers, and so on)?

Are there any tipps/tricks a CSS master (my words) would give a beginner? Any helpful advices?

Thanks in advance, Ruana

Hi Chris,

I'm working on implementing blueprint css in Drupal Layouts and would like to know if nesting is possible. For some reason, I would love to continue using blueprint and not get caught up in (which framework is better blueprint vs 960 etc.). If you are not aware, there is a lot of talk around using 960 gs within the Drupal community and there is a theme that has been created based on it, but I'm working on creating my own themes using Blueprint.

Can you create a screen cast that demonstrates how to create any one of the following examples. You don't have to be as detailed, but I'm just trying to get and idea of exactly when to use the append and prepend classes and if there is any nesting of the span classes involved within a container or can several containers be used for certain sections or as Drupal calls it regions.

After watching this videos and seeing the nesting taking place in 960 gs presentation, I decided to go for the gusto with blueprint but would like to take the guess work out of creating layouts with the typing of nesting shown in the video Accelerated Grid Theming - NineSixty + Video on the Boston design4drupal.org website.

Hi, while I do see that * { padding: 0; margin: 0; }, is not good, what is the best method to not have everything (e.g. h1, h2..., p etc...) hugging each other? Is there an essential list of every tag that would need to be set to make most items appear ok? Perhaps my ignorance of line-height vs using margin-bottom to separate content is at fault?

Perhaps a tutorial on that would be great. Perhaps you already have information regarding this? I've read some articles that touch on this issue, none seems to speak about the later problem of what essential items to style?
